Welcome!

I use many books in my spiritual studies. While the Bible is the main book I study from I do read others and consider all to be part of the Whole.

I do not believe God talked to us once and then quit talking. If He did that certainly I was not created in His image. (smile)

I talk alot but I also take time for quiet reflection where I look inward and seek to find God, the Lord, the Divine, Holy Spirit, (whatever name you want to use for omnipresence) within me.

In the Bible God said that He is alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. He is omnicsient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. I beleive whatever faith or religion, spirituality you study, if it feeds and nurtures your divine spirit then it is good.

This is where I lose many Bible believing Christians as they take literally John 14:6 where "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." International Standard Version. There is much study into the Word that while belief and acceptance of Jesus as God's only begotten son can be believed by all, Jew and Gentile, which then gives the thought that this means Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. However, there is also another school of thought wherein many believe the Bible, especially the New Testament was written only for one group of people. Israel. But who is Israel now - after the 13 tribes left that region and went unto all the nations?

Remember Romans 13:9 says this, "For the commandments, You must not commit adultery; you must not murder; you must not steal; you must not covet, and every other commandment are summed up in this statement: You must love your neighbor as yourself." Are you living your faith?

I've never been one to limit God. I've been saying the same thing for years that Oprah was quoted (and shown saying on one of her shows) about feeling as though we need to take God "out of the box". I believe He is just as the Bible says He is, omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. I do not keep God "in a box" by saying He only spoke to prophets in Bible times or that He can't talk to me or anyone else, if its His Will to do so.

I have a great solid Christian friend who told me God grabbed her up by the head of her hair and led her to the alter when she got saved. Was she hallucinating? I don't believe she's delusional. I believe that God did that. We keep forgetting that God is Father, Son and Holy Ghost. He has three personages so He can save us, talk with us, and be there to reach us, where ever we are.

Years ago in several 12 step recovery programs I was a part of, I learned that if I read a book, watched a movie or TV show, heard many opinions during a group therapy session, to take what I could use, and leave the rest. That teaching resonates within me to this day. I can watch Oprah, read Tolle's New Earth book, etc and take what applies to me and leave the rest. The real reason for this I beleive is that the Holy Ghost either has me ready at a certain time in my life to accept and understand something, or I'm not ready for whatever He is trying to teach me. To me, it's pretty simple.

Some people get all up in the air over this whole New Earth class that Oprah has going on. I believe God can use that, or any other religion, church, etc to reach His children. I believe that we have been commanded by Jesus Christ to perfect ourselves and become like God (see Matthew 5:48 and 2 Peter 3:11-12). That's really no different than what Tolle and Oprah are teaching. Deny thyself, let go of our ego. There are a lot of "good Christians" unable to let go of their ego. They are back biting and jealous. They covet their neighbors possesions, etc. We all fall short.

My hope is that you will take one thing from what I've presented, as the Holy Ghost guides you. Consider the words here and understand that our spirit is clothed by our body. We are spiritual beings having an earthly experience.
