History
As some of you may know over the past couple of years I have been doing some health related research to find a natural cure, or "healing", of my asthma. If you don't know that story - email me.
In essence, I couldn't travel 100% anymore (for my job) due to my asthma, so I the company I had worked for at that time, ended my job. The traveling I had been doing was taking quite a toll on my body. My doctor, at that time, said I needed to stay local to be able to undergo "allergy shot" therapy. Suffice to say, a couple years later I found another doctor who said the shots I'd been one weren't doing me much if any good at all. Upset? I sure was!
The only reason the company had ended my job had been due to the fact that the doctor had said I must remain local – no travel – in order to undergo the allergy shot therapy. Now, I always try to understand both sides of any debate. But when my life and livelihood were at stake I knew I had to press through... Several years later I am in a better place, all the way around. And the more I learn, the better I feel. Not only about why things happened as they did but I just FEEL totally better! So, you could say that I have asthma to thank for my health! That's right!
And now, between taking Juice Plus capsules every day, Natura Adaptagens and eating the foods from my Wholefoods Farmacy, grown in Tennessee, I'm feeling healthier every day!
Stress Signals
What are my body’s stress signals?
Does my heart race?
Do I breathe faster?
Do I get headaches or stomach aches?
What are your mind’s stress signals?
Do I get irritable, anxious, fearful or frustrated?
And how do I typically react to those signals?
Do I eat to soothe my emotion?
Do I withdraw from or get impatient with others?
Do I work harder and skip my walk or favorite activities?
If you’re looking for an alternative here is one to try: The STOP technique With a little mental practice it can become a second nature response in stressful situations). Next time you get upset with something that is out of your control like getting stuck in traffic or not losing the number of pounds you’d hoped this week say to yourself “STOP you have choices here!” You can explore why you didn’t see a change on the scale this week, think, how are you feeling right now? Are you frustrated or discouraged? Just how bad is this situation?
And for the most part didn’t you stay on track this week?
Use your journal and remind yourself that you’ve had so many weeks you’ve lost and analyze what you can control and let go of what you can’t. You can choose healthy ways to respond to the stresses in your life.
Use a positive affirmation “I am gaining perspective and balance in my life!”

Dear Diary,
From a discussion with my acupuncture physician.... why is it when we pray we say we give it to God but we keep taking it back? We always pick our problems back up. Yet, we are believers. We believe in Jesus and God the Father and the scriptures. We pray. We try and live our beliefs. If that is the case, then why do we not know, as Jesus did, that God is OUR Father too? That He will provide for us the same way He provided for Jesus? Maybe because we don't feel worthy? We think because Jesus was God's son that He was worthy - but we are not. Hmmm. Something to think about. Jesus died because we are worthy - didn't he?
I am so blessed to have a wonderful Christian acupuncture physician. I am so grateful for her help. It annoys me greatly when some people can be so shortsighted, narrow-minded and ignorant such as a woman in the story to follow.
My acupuncture physician was telling me that she had a powerful experience at church at an informal meeting one night... that as the people there introduced themselves; she said her name and shared her occupation. Well, I guess that was the wrong thing to do as quickly a lady stood up and said that she (my doctor) was putting demons into people with those needles and that acupuncture was akin to witchcraft!!! My doc took it all pretty good and said she still loved the woman but hated the sin (the sin of ignorance) so she tried to educate the group in a couple minutes about what acupuncture is and does but this woman wouldn't let it go!
This ignorant woman kept saying she KNEW acupuncture was wrong and nobody was going to convince her otherwise! Geesh! I mean I know "they walk among us" and all that but to argue with a person who's a long standing member of the church, also has good standing in the community and further (and I feel most importantly) truly cares and helps people - the very thing Jesus did!
It annoys me to think that people who feel they know something rudely impose it on everyone else (especially in that setting) instead of allowing each of us to research and find out for ourselves. Maybe, just maybe, even experience it before we pass judgment. Isn't that something?

Psychological Link Again you may feel as I did, that it wasn't just what I was eating or the portions but an emotional response to the foods I was eating. When I worked for Jenny Craig we focused on all of the reasons people were overweight. Here is one of the sources I found on the topic.
My Story I've shared my story before but I will run down my current food diary with you... Years ago I read several books by Dr. Paavo Airola and since...

Do you know about Christian Yoga. Wow! Who'd have thought that saying God instead of OM could work just as well! (ha!) I'm kidding of course. I think you could chant anything and yoga will work physically for you. If you want to use it for mental work or spiritual gain then follow your own path be it chanting God or Yahweh, I am, etc.
Enjoy! To our better health! :)
